THE RACE
It´s getting serious here! 80 kilometres of action, 9 peaks to conquer. This technical and thus challenging, evocative route will allow you to enjoy landscapes and sunsets typical of the Dolomites, those in which the phenomenon of the alpenglow colours the massifs pink.
Starting from the centre of Cavalese, you reach Tesero, from where the climb towards the first peaks of Pizzancae and Pelenzana begins. The route continues over alpine pastures in the direction of Monte Agnello and Monte Cornon. After passing Doss dei Branchi, you head towards the majestic Dolomite massif of Latemar. Rocky towers, couloirs and technical paths will guide you up to Cima Valbona at the highest point of the route (2.691 m).
Running around Cima Valsorda and past Forcella dei Camosci, you descend again towards Alpe di Pampeago, diverting uphill to Pala di Santa and continuing the descent towards Passo Lavazé. The next peaks to be reached from here are Corno Bianco and Corno Nero. On the way, you will enjoy a stunning view over the Bletterbach couloir.
From km 60, at the top of Corno Nero with an altitude of 2,439 m, the long 10 km descent to the bottom of the valley begins, reaching an altitude of 900 m. Once at the Cascata site, you start the uphill on the opposite side of the valley, but the climb is short: after a few kilometres you reach Localitá Salanzada and descend again towards the village of Masi. From here you have the last three kilometres uphill left to complete your race in the centre of Cavalese: FIEMME SKY ULTRA 80 is yours!
